ASU Orchestra
The Augusta State University Orchestra is a large ensemble comprised primarily of music majors and minors, as well as a few non-majors and community members. The orchestra began as the Augusta College Youth Orchestra directed by Dr. Eloy Fominaya. Under the direction of Dr. Martin David Jones, the orchestra's repertoire includes composers as diverse as Bach, Beethoven, Rimsky-Korsakov, Mendelssohn, Ennio Morricone, Michael Torke, and John Williams.
The ASU Wind Ensemble consists of woodwind, brass, and percussion. Under the new direction of Dr. John Wojcik, it is dedicated to providing the finest musical and educational opportunities for individuals interested in studying and performing a wide variety of concert band music. The Wind Ensemble presents a variety of well structured, entertaining, enlightening, and challenging programs.
